AppBasic is a freeware application which provides the easiest way to write standard RISC OS applications for the desktop and can be found at http://www.jettons.co.uk/riscos/toolbox/.
To demonstrate the software Joe will bringing a Toshiba laptop running Virtual A5000 and Red Squirrel. Joe will be using a projector for this meeting so we should all get a good view
Joe will also have some printed copies of the AppBasic manual to distribute (free) to any members who would like it.
This talk will be a good introduction to the application and should encourage you all to write BASIC programs for RISCOS which will run on all RISCOS machines from v3.1 onwards.
I hope you will all be able to come along and support it.
We all enjoyed our visit to Manningtree once again. The food was excellent and plentiful. I am glad so many were able to support the event once again.
Here are two photos attached for your perusal!
We were all pleased to see Royal again and in good form.
I don't have anything to report this time save that I've managed to get my Epson printer running again after suffering from a blocked print head. There is a useful company called EaZy Inkjet Ltd http://www.eazyinkjet.co.uk who market cleaning refills containing solvent for several makes of printer (HP, Epson, Canon, Lexmark, Olivetti) order online with rapid delivery.
I'll also give a plug to Excellent Solutions Ltd http://www.ExcellentSolutions.co.uk as a local Ipswich computer repairer, supplier and custom builder of PCs.
The numbers of people logging onto the IRC sessions is increasing which is good to see. Why not log in on a Tuesday evening between 8 and 10pm and have a chat. It is quite a good cross-platform activity and you don't even have to go out in the cold! See our website for more details. http://icenicomputerclub.users.btopenworld.com

8th February "Using UniPrint"
With the assistance of Gerald Dodson, Frank Watkinson plans to demonstrate the installation, setup and use of this universal printing software to print photographic quality from a RISC PC and from Virtual Acorn to a USB Canon printer (i965) connected to a Windows laptop, with all facilities as would be available directly from Windows, but operating from RISC OS applications. With a simple network, this software makes it easy.
